Expedition has many different Service and Maintenance agreements. We also can tailor contracts to meet special needs. Below is a Contract that would be effective for your company. 

Service Contracts

Block Hours Contracts

This service allows a company to purchase blocks of hours of Technical Support at a discount off the regular labor rates. Payment for Block hours is to be made in advance. Hours are usable 5 days a week, 9am to 5pm daily. Hours can be used for both Online and Onsite Support. Hours are usable for one year from the month of purchase (i.e., May – April). Online support is compiled in 15-minute intervals. On-site support is compiled in 30-minute intervals. The regular cost per hour for the same technicians is $100-$175. "Block Hour" Contracts are available in 50, 100, & 500 hour blocks. (All service contracts are payable in advance. A late fee is charged for late payments)

On-line Maintenance Contract

This service allows a company to have their network monitored for day-to-day operations.

Mini-Watch  Contract includes:

  1. Monitor NT event viewer: Recommend various setting changes when necessary.
  2. Monitor available disk space: Recommend changes in data layout when necessary.
  3. Monitor daily backup status.
  4. Look for and recommend installation of new Service Paks from Microsoft. These become available for all BackOffice and Front Office products.
  5. Monitor Exchange IS sizes

Maxi-Watch Contract includes:

  1. All Mini-Watch Items
  2. Clean all Servers of Tmp and unneeded files.
  3. Install all Service packs and hot fixes for Operating System and other Microsoft components.
  4. Run Directory consolidation and other utility programs to keep systems running at peak performance.
  5. Check Diskeeper Status: Monitor fragmentation changes and alter defragmentation setting when necessary
  6. Check DHCP scope (Re: Available addresses.)
  7. Check WINS database (Re: Assignments)
  8. Check user directories on server to ensure they are being used.
  9. Check RAS ports for incoming and outgoing activity.
  10. Monitor RAID Cabinets and Drives
  11. Check for and install any Anti-virus updates

These services require that the client company has Internet access via a router with 128k band­width or higher, and PCAnywhere Host must be installed. “Maxi-service & Mini-service Online” are conducted every weekday excluding national holidays. The Maxi-service includes the installation of Service paks and patches during the length of the contract. (Service paks of greater than 15 megabytes require a minimum of 384k in Internet bandwidth.) The Mini-service is the smallest online maintenance package available.

  • Mini-Service $100.00/wk Purchasable in yearly contracts = $ 5,200.00
  • A special price has been put together for you if both packages are purchased together = $13,000.00
  • All Labor Contracts, Maintenance Contracts, Surveys, etc. are payable in advance.
  • Online support is compiled in 15-minute intervals.
  • On-site support is compiled in 30-minute intervals.
  • There is a 20% surcharge on Labor (payable & billed separately) for weekends, Holidays, and weekdays after 8pm.
  • If an outside specialist is necessary, the billable rate will be agreed upon before commencement of work.

Census Services

The first step in taking responsibility for your systems is to take a census. Expedition maintains a database of all equipment we install at your location, including CPU type, memory type and quantity, hard disk size and type (including installation parameters), network node address, network card type (including installation parameters), bios date, monitor type, operating system, and other data. In the event, we are called upon to provide service, we utilize this database to enable our operators to make informed decisions and recommendations. In the event, we are supporting equipment we did not sell or install, we first inventory the equipment and store its parameters. Again, this facilitates our ability to provide quality service economically.

Site Surveys/Census Surveys:

Expedition calls a Site Survey a Census Survey. If you have plans to upgrade your network to newer technology, or to add servers, PCs, workstations, or peripherals to your network, require a thorough workstation, or workstation & network analysis. Analyzing and optimizing your workstations and network can help you prevent production delays now and in the future. If you want to optimize a current group of workstations or workstations & network, Expedition's Site Surveys can help ensure that your hardware is operating efficiently. Not only will we help you optimize your current operation, we will also recommend hardware and software configuration improvements that will allow your enterprise an increasing workload.

Expedition offers two levels of Census Surveys!

Soft-Census Software only check of each workstation

  • A written report is prepared from Visual (external) examination of each computer, analysis of software reports, visual inspection of hard drive setup, and type & condition of network. This plan is designed for your IT department to use our information to draw their own conclusions about the problems or potential problems on your network. We will supply the following:
  • An inventory of each workstation’s operating system and other related software.
  • A plan to tune the present equipment

Costs for Soft-Census Survey:

  1. 20 computers $ 650.00
  2. 50 computers $ 1,500.00
  3. 100 computers $ 2,800.00

Hard-Census Hardware & Software evaluation of each workstation

  • A written report is prepared from visual (external) and hands-on (internal) examination of each computer. Our technicians open and evaluate the internal electronics of each computer. This allows a report of much greater depth. In addition, Expedition further analyzes each workstation with several different software programs that produce reports, which are returned to our Laboratory for further in-depth analysis. We visually inspect the hard drive setup, type, & condition of your network.
  • After examining your existing workstations, we offer recommendations for optimizing your current setup. These recommendations include:
  • An inventory of each machine (parts, software, etc.).
  • A plan to tuning and optimize the present equipment.
  • The identification of actual and potential problems related to bottlenecks in each system.

The costs for Hard-Census Survey:

  1. 20 computers $1,150.00
  2. 50 computers $2,900.00
  3. 100 computers $5,650.00

Census-Link Network Analysis

Census-Link can be added to the above Surveys for an additional:

  1. $ 1,000.00 for 20 computers
  2. $ 2,000.00 for 50 computers
  3. $ 3,500.00 for 100 computers

Expedition's deliverables for this service include a Project Implementation Plan and a Network Systems Analysis Report (containing both short and long term recommendations). These reports will also include proposals for solving any networking and Internet issues identified.
